The information we collect
We only collect information we genuinely need to quote, produce and deliver an order. That may include:
Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
Funeral home or funeral director details where an order is placed on behalf of a family.
Details relating to the deceased that you choose to give us for personalisation, such as a name, dates, a short message and the date of the funeral service.
Photographs, artwork and design choices you upload or create using our design tool.
Order history, correspondence with us, and account login details if you register an account.
Standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and website analytics.
Payment information
We do not collect or store your full credit or debit card details. Card payments are processed by our payment provider through their own secure systems. We receive only a confirmation of payment and limited transaction details.
Why we collect it
We use personal information to:
prepare quotes and respond to enquiries;
produce, check and deliver your order, including preparing a design proof for approval;
process payment and keep the records we are required to keep;
contact you about your order; and
improve our website and our products.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the details of a deceased person or images you supply for marketing or promotion without your permission.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to fulfil your order or where the law requires it. That may include:
the funeral director or funeral home handling the service, where an order relates to them;
our payment provider;
transport and delivery providers;
our website, hosting and IT service providers, who are bound to keep the information confidential; and
government bodies or advisers where we are required or permitted by law.
Some of our service providers may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the information continues to be protected.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and for as long as we are required to keep records by law. When it is no longer needed we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our security measures are described in our Data Security Policy.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing enquiries@lifestylecoffins.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity first, and in limited cases the law allows us to decline a request, in which case we will explain why.
